Principal Engineer, Structural Engineering
WSP is looking for Candidate who should hold experience minimum of 15+ years on Structures engineering including design & development on RCC and Steel structures of Transport and infrastructure projects along with Chartership from (MIStructE/HKIE(str))
This role is to work as part of a team to support the delivery of projects. This role will be working under the supervision of a Associate or Hongkong team to carry out the following functions.
Analyze and design building structures based on applicable Hong Kong Design Standards and Specifications or equivalent BS EN standards.
Perform structural design, analysis calculations, and prepare design reports for foundations and building structures, including piling foundations, footing foundations, superstructures (both steel and concrete), long-span steel truss structures, footbridges, ELS-associated structures, and temporary works.
Develop and review structural plans and specifications.
Use engineering and design software (e.g., Etabs, SADS, SAP2000, SAFE, Prokon) to create engineering design reports.
Coordinate with other disciplines to provide adequate information for effective project progression.
Lead and supervise junior team members.
Liaise with the Hong Kong office and various stakeholders regarding work specifications.
Degree holder in Civil/Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 15 years of practical experience in structural design for building structures (Infrastructure, plant, and facilities buildings preferred).
Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles, as well as best practices in concrete and steel structural design.
Familiarity with Hong Kong/British/European standards.
Proven work experience as a Building Structural Engineer or in a similar role.
Proficiency in design software (e.g., Etabs, SADS, SAP2000, SAFE, Prokon).
Strong command of written and spoken English.
Chartered Engineer (MIStructE/HKIE(str)) is a must.
A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Project is essential
Strong command of written and spoken English. Good management, communication and technical skills and capable of working both within the team and independently, as dictated by workload
Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills.
Proficiency in AutoCAD/BIM software preferred.
