Role Description\:

The Principal Aviation Engineer will lead system engineers and detail designers on the integration of electro-mechanical systems. Work closely with operations teams to support system installation on naval vessels where required and engage with commissioning and trials teams to support system set-to-work and acceptance activities. The role is customer-facing and requires, delivering technical briefings and presentations to internal and external stakeholders, including the client

Core Duties\:

• Lead the engineering delivery of aviation electro-mechanical and hydraulic systems, including both in-house designed and externally procured equipment

• Review, verify and assure engineering designs, ensuring compliance with technical, quality and programme standards

• Produce and maintain technical documentation, supporting aviation design activities and contractual deliverables

• Support vessel build, installation, commissioning and acceptance activities, working closely with operations, trials teams and suppliers

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including the MOD client, while contributing to product safety reviews, hazard identification activities and compliance validation

Essential Skills\:

• Qualified to HND/degree level in a STEM related discipline. Applicants should be a Chartered Engineer or hold another equivalent professional registration with a relevant institution

• Knowledge and experience of system design and integration processes, and using CAD and modelling software

• Experience of engineering in naval/commercial shipbuilding or similar industry
