Principal Enterprise Architect
Summary
Contract Principal Enterprise Architect for a Federal Government authority managing the Murray-Darling Basin, leading enterprise-wide ICT architecture, design governance (Architecture Review Board/Design Authority), and multi-cloud/hybrid infrastructure strategy. Pays $155-175 per hour inc super and requires eligibility for Baseline Security Clearance with an ACT, VIC or SA address.
Salary: $155 - $175ph (inc-Super) - weekly pay options

Our client, the Federal Government authority responsible for managing the Murray-Darling Basin as a connected river system and supporting sustainable water outcomes, require the services of a Principal Enterprise Architect.
Duties of the Principal Enterprise Architect
- Provide enterprise-wide architecture leadership across ICT systems & initiatives;
- Define & maintain enterprise architecture principles, standards, & roadmaps;
- Ensure alignment between business strategy & ICT investments;
- Oversee design governance through Architecture Review Board & Design Authority;
- Identify & reduce technical debt, duplication, & architectural risks;
- Provide guidance on secure, scalable, & standards-aligned solutions;
- Support multi-cloud & hybrid infrastructure strategy & integration;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to drive innovation & sustainable technology outcomes.
Skills and Experience Required
- Demonstrate ability to deliver secure, standards-aligned architecture outcomes;
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks & architecture review processes;
- Experience working in complex or government environments;
- Ability to reduce risk, duplication, & technical debt across ICT systems;
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement & influencing skills;
- Extensive experience in enterprise architecture within complex ICT environments;
- Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF or similar);
- Experience in government or regulated environments preferred;
- Proven ability to influence strategic technology decisions;
- Demonstrated experience in governance, risk management, & compliance alignment.
