Principal Global SLC Pre-Sales Consultant – Healthcare and Life Sciences

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal Global SLC Pre-Sales Consultant – Healthcare and Life Sciences based in the United States.

As a Principal Global Pre-Sales Consultant, you will serve as a senior technical advisor supporting enterprise sales across the healthcare and life sciences sector.
You’ll help customers evaluate modern approaches to SAS language execution, portability, compatibility, and statistical programming.
The role combines technical discovery, architecture guidance, solution demonstrations, workshops, and proof-of-concept leadership.
You’ll engage directly with executives, technical stakeholders, pharmaceutical organizations, partners, and internal product and engineering teams.
Your expertise will help customers modernize statistical computing environments while preserving and extending valuable SAS language workloads.
You’ll also bring customer insights back into product strategy and help shape solutions for evolving industry requirements.
This is a highly visible, customer-facing opportunity for an experienced SAS professional who can connect deep technical expertise with business value.

Accountabilities:

  • Partner with account executives throughout the sales cycle, serving as the primary technical advisor for customers and prospects evaluating SLC solutions.
  • Lead customer conversations and technical discovery sessions to understand business objectives, existing environments, technical requirements, and modernization priorities.
  • Assess the feasibility, effort, and technical considerations involved in porting existing SAS language code to run in SLC.
  • Review customers’ current and target IT infrastructure, ecosystems, and statistical computing environments, providing architectural guidance for SLC deployment.
  • Support customers with SAS language code migration and help address portability, compatibility, performance, and modernization considerations.
  • Design, scope, and lead pilots and proof-of-concept engagements with clearly defined success criteria, structured evaluation processes, and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop and deliver industry-specific demonstrations, technical presentations, architecture discussions, workshops, webinars, and conference sessions.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in SAS language and statistical programming, with a particular focus on pharmaceutical and life sciences environments.
  • Support and enable service and technology partners in positioning and presenting SLC solutions to industry customers.
  • Participate in and lead pharmaceutical industry projects related to statistical programming and modernization.
  • Lead workshops that demonstrate technical capabilities, modernization opportunities, and potential deployment approaches.
  • Lead and contribute to RFI and RFP responses, ensuring technical requirements and solution considerations are clearly addressed.
  • Own the technical customer relationship throughout the sales process, building trust and guiding stakeholders toward informed technology decisions.
  • Collaborate with sales, product, engineering, and other internal teams to remove technical blockers and influence solution direction.
  • Capture real-world customer feedback and translate it into actionable insights for product teams and future roadmap development.
  • Requirements

    • At least 5 years of professional experience programming in the SAS language, with a deep understanding of SAS behavior, compatibility, migration patterns, and performance considerations.
    • Strong knowledge of statistical programming within the pharmaceutical and life sciences industry, including familiarity with relevant workflows, environments, and industry requirements.
    • Proven experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Pre-Sales, Solutions Consulting, Technical Consulting, Training, Business Support, Technical Support, or a similar function.
    • Demonstrated experience designing and conducting proof-of-concepts and technical evaluations with defined objectives, success criteria, and structured outcomes.
    • Strong experience leading technical discovery sessions, customer workshops, architecture discussions, and software demonstrations.
    • Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Strong executive presence and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and guide enterprise-scale technology adoption.
    • Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, product, engineering, and customer teams while influencing solution direction and resolving blockers.
    • Full professional proficiency in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
    • Strong understanding of SAS language execution, code portability, compatibility, performance, and modernization within enterprise environments.
    • Experience assessing IT architectures, statistical computing environments, and technology ecosystems to recommend practical deployment approaches.
    • Preferred experience with R and/or Python.
    • Familiarity with low-code AI tools is an advantage.
    • Willingness to work in a global, customer-facing environment with the flexibility required to support enterprise engagements, workshops, and industry events.

      • Annual compensation range of approximately $147,700–$293,400, depending on job-related skills, experience, education, and training.
