NewBe an early applicant

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Principal, Performance Marketing based in United States.

This is a senior individual-contributor role responsible for setting and maintaining the performance standard across a diverse portfolio of client accounts.
You will have a cross-functional view of account health, identifying risks early and intervening before performance issues become client problems.
The role combines deep paid-media expertise with strategic analysis, performance coaching, and high-stakes account recovery.
You will work closely with multiple growth teams while maintaining authority through expertise, data, and consistent standards rather than formal reporting lines.
You will lead weekly account-health reviews, oversee performance escalations, and develop structured rescue plans for at-risk accounts.
The environment is fast-paced, multi-client, and highly accountable, with significant influence over client retention, growth, and team capability.
This is an opportunity for an experienced performance marketer to shape how excellence is measured and delivered across an entire client portfolio.

Accountabilities

  • Own the cross-account performance standard, establishing and maintaining clear green, yellow, and red health classifications across the active client portfolio.
  • Lead weekly account-health reviews, providing evidence-based visibility into performance, identifying emerging risks, and ensuring appropriate actions are underway.
  • Detect performance issues early and escalate strategically, preventing yellow accounts from becoming critical and critical accounts from becoming retention risks.
  • Lead recovery efforts for at-risk accounts, coordinating analysts, creatives, strategists, and other resources as needed while owning the recovery plan, timeline, and measurable outcome.
  • Coach Growth Pod Leads through a dotted-line relationship, using account data and performance insights to strengthen strategic thinking, execution quality, and paid-media expertise.
  • Partner with senior growth leadership on team capacity, account expansion opportunities, staffing decisions, and the balance between resources and performance requirements.
  • Evaluate campaign performance at a granular level across paid-media channels, diagnose root causes, and determine practical actions to improve results.
  • Establish consistent performance practices, reporting rhythms, and accountability mechanisms that improve the health and quality of the overall client portfolio.
  • Communicate account health, performance risks, recommendations, and recovery progress clearly to senior stakeholders and peers.
  • Requirements

    • 7+ years of hands-on paid-media experience across platforms such as Meta, Google, and/or TikTok.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze campaign performance at a granular level and diagnose what is happening, why it is happening, and what action should be taken.
    • Experience managing or coaching growth marketers or paid-media managers, with a proven ability to develop performance craft and raise execution standards.
    • Strong analytical instincts and a data-driven approach to identifying performance trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes.
    • Experience working in a fast-paced, multi-client agency, embedded marketing, or similarly performance-focused environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present account health and navigate sensitive performance discussions with confidence and clarity.
    • Comfortable operating without formal managerial authority, influencing teams through expertise, credibility, coaching, and consistent standard-setting.
    • Proficiency with ClickUp or comparable project-management platforms, along with hands-on experience using Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, and performance analytics tools.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts, priorities, escalations, and stakeholders simultaneously.
    • Familiarity with AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, or similar platforms for research, reporting, analysis, and workflow acceleration is a strong plus.
    • Benefits

      • Base salary of $130,000–$150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
      • Commission opportunities tied to clients owned.
      • Flexible paid time off (PTO).
      • 401(k) plan.
      • Remote, U.S.-based work environment.
      • Opportunity to influence performance standards and strategy across a broad client portfolio.
      • Senior individual-contributor scope with direct visibility to growth leadership and meaningful strategic influence.
      • High-accountability, performance-driven environment focused on measurable client outcomes.
