Principal Platform Engineer
Summary
This Principal Platform Engineer role involves setting technical strategy, designing architecture, and writing code for a large-scale platform. The position requires deep expertise in multi-cloud environments (Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, GitOps, and building internal developer platforms using Go and Python.
Title: Principal Platform Engineer
Duration: 6 month rolling contract
Location: Sydney (WFH hybrid)
Join the platform team behind one of Australia's largest and most successful businesses - supporting 30 million monthly active users. This is a hands-on principal role where you'll set technical direction, own the architecture, and still ship code.
The role is split evenly across strategy, architecture and implementation; setting technical direction, owning the platform's architecture, and staying hands-on enough to build reference implementations yourself. Azure is the primary cloud with a growing GCP footprint, so genuine multi-cloud depth matter.

- Cell-based or microservice architecture in multi-tenant environments
- Principal-level track record setting platform strategy and technical direction
