Principal Product Manager for AI Custom Models
You will define product strategy and roadmaps for custom models and self-hosted AI capabilities. You will lead discovery, prioritization, and delivery for model flexibility, self-managed deployments, and AI agent orchestration. You will translate customer and technical needs into clear requirements, guide trade-off decisions, align stakeholders, and communicate priorities asynchronously.
Responsibilities
- Lead product strategy and roadmap definition for custom models and self-hosted AI capabilities.
- Drive discovery, prioritization, and delivery for model flexibility, self-managed deployments, and AI agent orchestration.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and product leaders to translate customer and technical needs into product direction.
- Define product requirements for infrastructure, configuration, deployment, and hardware considerations.
- Align this product area with broader platform strategy.
- Guide trade-off decisions based on customer value, technical feasibility, and platform quality.
- Support knowledge transfer and continuity as the team evolves.
- Communicate plans, decisions, and priorities transparently for asynchronous execution.
Requirements
- Experience owning product strategy for technical platform, infrastructure, or AI-driven products.
- Knowledge of AI model ecosystems, including custom, open, or open-weight models.
- Familiarity with self-hosted or self-managed software and customer operational needs.
- Ability to work with engineers on configuration, infrastructure, deployment patterns, and hardware constraints.
- Experience leading complex product work with multiple stakeholders and technical ambiguity.
- Written and verbal communication skills in a distributed, asynchronous environment.
- Ability to operate at principal scope across strategy, execution, and cross-functional alignment.
