Summary

Principal Product Manager owning the product strategy for data accuracy in Tracksuit's Survey team — defining metrics and bets that keep brand-tracking survey data accurate and trusted as the company scales, balancing cost, speed and quality with engineers, data scientists, researchers and external partners. Based in the Auckland office.

Tracksuit exists to help marketers prove their brand building is working. We give teams the data they need to make smarter decisions, convince stakeholders, defend budgets, and track their progress. The brand tracking industry is dominated by 100-page reports, static data and big price-tags. We're doing things differently by being built for the modern marketer: always-on, accessible, and approachable.

We're now tracking more than 16,000 brands across 25 countries globally. With offices in Auckland, Sydney, London and New York City, we're scaling fast with a brilliant team of collaborative and ambitious humans. Our culture is defined by "high care, high performance". We strive to be the best and look after each other while we do it.

We're committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, a place where everyone can be themselves and do the best work of their lives. We value a fresh perspective, varied experience and a growth mindset over ticking every box. If this sounds like you but you don't match every line, please apply anyway. We'd love to chat.

How do you keep brand data accurate as you grow?

That's the question this role exists to answer.

Tracksuit gives brands always-on, affordable brand tracking. Every month we survey thousands of real people about the brands they know, buy and love, so marketers can see what's working. We already work with more than 1,000 brands across New Zealand, Australia, the US and the UK, and our goal is to track every brand.

The catch is that growth puts pressure on data quality. Ask the same people too often and answers get rushed, quality slips and insight gets less reliable. Our Survey team is solving this, and we're looking for a Principal Product Manager to lead its product strategy.

What you'll do

You'll own the product strategy for data accuracy across Tracksuit's research. That means working on what shapes it: the quality of our data sources, how we use them, and the quality of every response. Right now that means cutting waste and getting more from every response. Next it means bringing on new partners and introducing new data sources in a way customers trust. You'll shape the problems we solve against our Accurate and Trusted pillar.

  • Set the product strategy for data accuracy and own the metrics that show how accurate and trustworthy our data is

  • Pressure test current outcomes and metrics, and shape the bets we take towards them

  • Influence engineers, data scientists and domain experts towards the work that matters most

  • Work closely with our research, operations and quality teams

  • Make hard trade-offs between cost, speed and data quality, and explain the why

  • Mentor other PMs and help shape how we do product at Tracksuit

Your first 90 days

You'll get across our data accuracy metrics, key partners and the bets already in flight, and take over smoothly from the current owner. You'll build trust with the people who run our surveys day to day. By the end, you'll have a clear strategy for the year ahead that the team and leadership are behind.

What you'll bring

  • Significant product management experience, including setting strategy and moving real business outcomes

  • Comfort with data, experiments and measurement

  • Commercial thinking, connecting product decisions to cost and growth

  • A track record of leading work across several teams or external partners without relying on authority

  • The ability to break a messy, ambiguous problem into clear pieces, and stay effective when the picture isn't clear yet

Bonus points

  • Experience with data quality, measurement or research methods

  • Data platform or data-heavy products, including marketplace or supply-side work

  • Hands-on work with new or augmented data sources

Why this role is different

Few product roles let you own a data accuracy problem that blends data science, AI and commercial trade-offs, with a direct line to how fast the business can grow. You'll be close to the decisions and close to the data.

This role is based in our Auckland office, reporting to our Head of Product.
