Sr. Project Manager
Senior Project Manager
Drive Execution. Remove Roadblocks. Deliver Predictable Outcomes
Company description
At Power Integrations, we develop innovative semiconductor technologies that power energy-efficient solutions used around the world. From consumer electronics and industrial applications to electric vehicles and renewable energy systems, our products help customers solve increasingly complex power conversion challenges.
Our technologies make electronic devices and energy systems more efficient worldwide. Employees collaborate with talented engineers, business leaders, and operations teams on products that directly affect our customers and our business.
Motivation for job
We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager who thrives at the intersection of technology, execution, and leadership. This is not a project coordinator role. It is an opportunity to become a trusted partner to Engineering leadership and help teams bring innovative semiconductor products from concept to production with greater speed, transparency, and predictability.
This highly visible role offers significant scope to shape execution excellence across the organization. If you are energized by complex projects, cross-functional influence, thoughtful escalation, and helping teams make better decisions faster, we would like to hear from you.
Job description
As Senior Project Manager, you will lead the execution of complex semiconductor product development projects across multiple functions and geographies, from concept through production release.
You will provide an independent view of execution and partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Applications, Packaging, Test, Marketing, and Business Unit stakeholders. You will ensure projects remain aligned, risks surface early, decisions happen quickly, and commitments are met.
The role operates within a clear accountability model:
- Product Leaders own product strategy, portfolio priorities, and business outcomes.
- Functional Leaders own technical solutions and execution within their teams.
- The Senior Project Manager owns integrated project execution, cross-functional alignment, schedule predictability, dependency management, and delivery transparency.
Success requires more than maintaining schedules. You will anticipate issues, identify resource constraints before they affect commitments, and help leadership make informed decisions that keep projects moving forward.
Specific Responsibilities
- Drive cross-functional semiconductor product development projects from concept through production release.
- Build, maintain, and actively manage integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, critical paths, dependencies, deliverables, and success metrics.
- Align Engineering, Applications, Packaging, Test, Quality, Operations, Marketing, and Business Unit stakeholders around executable plans and priorities.
- Identify bottlenecks, competing priorities, resource constraints, and execution risks before they affect commitments.
- Develop recovery and mitigation plans when projects deviate from schedule or readiness expectations.
- Facilitate timely, data-based decisions; clarify ownership; track actions; and escalate issues appropriately.
- Help leadership understand trade-offs, risks, opportunities, resource needs, and schedule impacts.
- Serve as the central coordination point across technical and business functions while maintaining objective project oversight.
- Resolve conflicts, remove barriers, drive accountability across matrixed teams, and create transparent reporting with no surprises.
- Monitor project health, milestone readiness, resource availability, and production-release preparedness.
- Use modern project management tools, analytics, dashboards, automation, and AI-enabled solutions to improve visibility and predictability.
- Automate status gathering, action tracking, reporting, and risk identification to reduce administrative work and strengthen execution leadership.
- Help advance scalable project management practices and continuous improvement across the organization.
Skills required
- Strong project leadership and influencing skills in a matrix organization, including the ability to drive accountability without direct authority.
- Expertise in integrated planning, critical path management, dependency management, resource planning, risk mitigation, and schedule recovery.
- Ability to anticipate issues, resolve conflicts, remove roadblocks, and maintain momentum across complex technical programs.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, stakeholder management, and executive presentation capabilities.
- Sound judgement and the ability to turn data into clear decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations.
- Proficiency with modern project management tools, analytics, dashboards, and workflow automation.
- Ability to apply AI-enabled tools to status reporting, action tracking, risk identification, and other project workflows.
Background desired
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field.
- At least eight years of project management experience in semiconductors, electronics, hardware, or another complex product development environment.
- Demonstrated success leading large, cross-functional technical projects, preferably across global teams.
- Strong understanding of semiconductor development lifecycles, including IC development and tapeout, validation, package development, test development, qualification, manufacturing readiness, and production release.
- Experience managing critical paths, dependencies, resource constraints, project risks, and production-readiness milestones.
- Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- PMP, PgMP, Agile, or a similar project management certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with PLM, ERP, and portfolio management systems is preferred.
- Experience implementing AI-enabled project management or workflow automation solutions is preferred.
