Principal Project Engineer (C&S / M&E)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage civil and structural engineering works throughout project execution and handover.

  • Coordinate closely with project teams, consultants, contractors, clients, and relevant stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.

  • Review and evaluate technical drawings, specifications, engineering submissions, RFIs, RFAs, and project documentation.

  • Monitor construction progress and identify technical, coordination, and project delivery risks.

  • Provide technical expertise in reinforced concrete, precast structures, structural steelwork, and composite construction.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to resolve design and construction issues.

  • Analyse project data from Common Data Environment (CDE), EDMS, Primavera P6, and other project management systems to support decision-making and risk mitigation.

  • Review BIM models and digital project information to ensure design coordination and constructability.

  • Facilitate meetings and technical discussions with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities.

  • Support project reporting and prepare executive-level presentations, reports, and performance dashboards.

  • Ensure compliance with project requirements, contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality procedures.

  • Contribute to problem-solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Science, or a related engineering discipline recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB), Singapore.

  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in large-scale building and infrastructure construction projects.

  • Proven experience in Civil, Structural, Geotechnical, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering works.

  • Successfully completed at least three large-scale projects from construction through commissioning and handover stages.

  • Strong technical knowledge of reinforced concrete structures, precast construction, structural steelwork, and composite design and construction.

  • Demonstrated experience in project management, engineering coordination, and construction delivery.

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, engineering documentation, and project requirements.

  • Familiarity with BIM applications and Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), preferably Bentley ProjectWise or similar platforms.

  • Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE), Primavera P6, and project management systems for project monitoring and risk assessment.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex project information and identify coordination risks.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, conflict resolution, and presentation skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Familiarity with Power BI and data-driven project reporting tools is preferred.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and capable of performing in a fast-paced project environment.

  • Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
