Principal Project Manager
Work Location: This hybrid role is based at our Canonsburg, PA office. The current onsite expectation is two days per week (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), with additional in-office presence as needed based on business needs.
Overview: The Principal Project Manager is responsible for the overall delivery and execution of Pharmacy implementation projects and providing guidance to various levels of project managers. The incumbent will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure projects are planned and delivered with quality. They will develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products and services of the Company to achieve optimal onboarding and successful implementation of functionality. This will be achieved holistically via three major aspects, managing projects, initiating new processes, and improving project management tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of Pharmacy software, application, and technology initiatives in partnership with key stakeholders, ensuring solutions are successfully developed, tested, implemented, and transitioned into production to support business objectives and strategic priorities.
Define, plan and manage all project management related activities that are part of the Pharmacy portfolio; coordinate with external teams (hardware and software vendors), internal teams (Business owners/Product Management, Infrastructure Engineering, Data Center Operations, Networking, Security and Production Support) as well as with other project managers to ensure that fully functional products and supporting secure infrastructure is brought on line/enhanced to meet the timelines of dependent projects;
Develop and maintain a professional level of knowledge regarding the products, services and related infrastructure deployment of the Company to have a business context for making decisions;
Leverage an Agile mindset where suited within the existing PM methodologies;
Manage projects by defining scope, schedules, deliverables and risk plans;
Focus on regular and timely delivery of value;
Provide guidance, expertise, and assistance to all PMO members related to project processes;
Work with subject matter experts (SMEs), technical staff, vendors/partners, client teams, and others to ensure the operational and financial success of projects and programs assigned to;
Lead project teams by holding teams accountable for their commitments, removing roadblocks to their work, managing interdependencies, leveraging organizational resources and communicating progress and issues to management;
Develop budgets, timelines, and other business documents as required;
Serve as a key resource within the PMO team and maintain a bridge between internal stakeholders;
Provide timely project status updates, prepare and distribute progress reports and correct deviations from plans;
Assist in interviewing, recruitment, orientation of new hires;
Improve and maintain up-to-date organizational process assets, including templates, to ensure that processes are thoroughly documented and followed. Support Project Management Office to rollout tactical improvements and project management best practices for both Agile and Waterfall;
Leverage interdependencies and organizational resources to improve capacity for program work; coordinate with resource managers to insure appropriate levels of resource utilization across projects;
Maintain compliance with Inovalon’s policies, procedures and mission statement;
Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon’s Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position; and
Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Employer.
Job Requirements:
Minimum of 10 years of experience managing mid-to large-scale implementation and SaaS projects;
Knowledgeable in PMBOK/PMI project management principles and theories;
Scrum Agile/SAFe experience is strongly recommended;
Strong understanding and adhering to complex contracts, including navigation and support of change orders and contract amendments;
Strong leadership skills; steward change through the department as necessary focusing on a collaborative approach and buy-in with the constituents;
Proven ability to initiate and drive projects through to completion;
Confidence and ability to influence alignment of team members and business partners toward common goals;
Must possess superior oral and written communication skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables;
Ability to interface comfortably with senior leaders to develop an understanding of needs. Must be responsive, action-oriented and able to build trust with various stakeholders;
Project Management skills: project initiation, project plan creation, resource allocation, time/schedule management, risk management, budget tracking, prioritization, status;
Proven success in delivering projects in a fast-paced, matrix resource organization;
Excellent customer service skills;
Mastery of Microsoft office tools, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook;
Experience reading and interpreting contracts;
Excellent attention to detail;
Proven ability to initiate and drive projects to completion;
Confidence and ability to influence team members and business partners toward common goals;
Superior oral and written communications skills in order to clearly and effectively convey issues, reports, and other deliverables;
Responsive, action-oriented demeanor;
Ability to build trust and cultivate relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders;
Problem definition and resolution skills;
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project teams in parallel; and
A positive, professional, and solution-oriented attitude.
Education:
BA/BS Degree or equivalent is required;
PMP certification, or equivalent, is preferred;
PMI-ACP certification, or equivalent, is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time);
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force;
Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions;
Subject to inside environmental conditions; and
Travel for this position may be up to 20% as needed for project work.
