Principal QA Lead - Functional QA and Release Quality Management

We are seeking a Principal QA Lead - Functional QA and Release Quality Management who owns all QA activities within the release from planning to go-live, providing data-driven quality status, metrics, and release readiness recommendations. This role requires a hands-on QA candidate who is involved in all phases of the QA process in addition to overseeing/mentoring junior QA members and validating the quality of team deliverables. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in functional and automation testing techniques along with being a strong advocate for QA best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own QA execution and quality for ongoing releases
- Design complex test strategies and failure scenarios
- Analyze complex issues across Linux, AWS, and container platforms
- Drive sanity, regression, and end-to-end testing across teams
- Lead database testing for consistency and edge cases
- Define and report QA metrics for release readiness
- Guide and mentor QA team members
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Release teams
- Communicate release readiness, risks, and go/no-go recommendations
Required Qualifications:
- 15+ years of overall experience in QA including mobile, API Testing, functional testing and test automation
- 5+ years of technical mentorship and lead experience
- Proven QA Lead or release ownership experience
- Strong understanding of QA metrics and reporting
- Hands-on experience across web, mobile, API, DB, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Strong stakeholder communication and leadership skills
- Experience using AI-based productivity tools
