Principal SDET / Quality Architect (Playwright, Python, AI)

A principal-level SDET/quality architect who designs and scales test automation for data-intensive financial and analytics applications, using Playwright with TypeScript/JavaScript for UI, Python/Pytest for APIs and data validation, and Claude LLM APIs for AI-driven test generation, plus CI/CD via GitHub Actions/GitLab CI and Docker.
Role Summary
We are looking for an expert Principal SDET to architect and scale our test automation ecosystem. You will lead quality engineering for data-intensive financial and analytics applications using TypeScript/JavaScript + Playwright for web UI and Python for backend APIs and data validation. In this role, you will also pioneer AI-driven testing by integrating Claude LLM APIs to automate test generation, self-healing scripts, and root-cause analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Automation Architecture: Build scalable, parallelized test frameworks using Playwright (TS/JS) and Pytest (Python) for web apps, APIs, and data pipelines.
- AI-Driven QA: Integrate Claude APIs and AI tools to auto-generate test data, optimize selectors, and streamline bug triaging.
- Complex Data Validation: Design automated data-reconciliation suites for financial reporting systems, dashboards, and ETL workflows.
- CI/CD Integration: Embed test suites into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Docker) for fast, continuous feedback.
- Quality Leadership: Partner with Product and Engineering to drive Shift-Left testing, establish quality metrics, and mentor senior team members.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ Years Experience: Extensive background in SDET or Quality Architecture roles.
- Playwright Mastery (TypeScript/JavaScript): Deep expertise in Playwright fixtures, async execution, parallelization, and modern DOM testing.
- Expert Python Developer: High proficiency in Python for API automation, data pipelines, and CLI utilities (Pytest, Pandas, Asyncio).
- AI/LLM Integration: Experience using Generative AI tools or Anthropic's Claude API within automation workflows or dev tooling.
- Data Systems & SQL: Strong ability to write complex SQL queries to validate transactional databases (PostgreSQL, Snowflake) and backend systems.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
Preferred Skills
- Load testing using k6 or Locust.
- Familiarity with AWS/GCP and cloud-native application architectures.
