Principal Security Consultant
Salary: No contractor fees / two pay runs per week
Contract to 31 December 2026 | Brisbane, QLD | Hybrid Working
Lime Recruitment is currently working with a large Queensland Government client to recruit an experienced Principal Security Consultant. In this role you will lead the design, implementation and maintenance of application security authorisations across the organisation's core enterprise platforms, ensuring best practice security controls, governance frameworks and segregation of duty requirements are upheld.
Key Responsibilities
Lead security consultants in designing, developing, implementing and maintaining application security authorisations to meet business requirements across complex enterprise systems
Analyse and resolve complex application security issues, delivering innovative solutions within required timeframes
Complete system design, specification, development, unit testing and maintenance of security authorisations and processes in compliance with relevant industry standards
Define and implement application security controls, policies and procedures in line with government information and cyber security standards
Provide expert advice on security role implementation, role maintenance and segregation of duty conflict remediation
Advise management on security risks, issues and initiatives, and support audit, compliance and security incident investigations
Liaise with project teams, stakeholders and client groups to develop and maintain effective working relationships and solution integrity
Support knowledge transfer and capability building activities to upskill internal staff and embed security expertise
About You
Extensive experience developing, implementing and maintaining enterprise application security authorisations and security solutions in a complex IT environment
Experience with cloud platform technologies including cloud identity, authentication and provisioning services, with the ability to implement cloud-based security
Strong analytical, conceptual and innovative problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering quality client outcomes
Proven ability to provide specialist technical advice and respond to maintenance and support requests according to agreed procedures
Demonstrated ability to supervise and guide team members to deliver effective service to clients and key stakeholders
Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to recommend and implement security solutions within legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective client and stakeholder relationships and translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
