Job Summary:

The Markets Systems team is responsible for delivering first-in-class systems for trading, market data dissemination and surveillance monitoring in cash and We are seeking a motivated and energetic Systems Engineer to join our Markets Systems Technology team. Our team develops first-class systems for trading, market data dissemination, and surveillance monitoring across cash and derivatives markets in HKEX. We play a critical role in the technology lifecycle, including architecture design, system integration, testing, deployment, and implementation of mission-critical systems. Working closely with infrastructure and cybersecurity teams, we deliver resilient and innovative technology solutions that power Hong Kong’s financial markets.

Job Duties:

Job Responsibilities

• Build low-latency trading infrastructure in on-premises environments.

• Integrate and support mission-critical systems for cash and derivatives markets.

• Automate and streamline system health checks, operational workflows, and DevOps processes.

• Assess technology and security risks and drive mitigation actions in line with enterprise standards.

• Coordinate and support system testing, deployment, and production rollout activities, including occasional weekend exercises.

• Promote technical excellence through adherence to best practices and engineering standards.

• Ensure compliance with organization policies, regulatory requirements, and security standards.

Job Requirements

• Experience in building or supporting low-latency trading or market data infrastructure, including network and Linux server configuration

• Experience in systems integration, configuration management, and multi-environment support.

• Solid experience in shell scripting (e.g., bash), Python, SQL, with familiarity in DevOps tools and practices.

• Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and communication skills.

• Detail-oriented, with the ability to deliver high-quality work through effective planning, coordination, and execution.

• A strong team player with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.

• Experience in technical testing and deployment is an advantage.

• Good understanding of enterprise server architecture and network topology is an advantage.

• Familiarity with system monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Grafana) is an advantage.
