We are working with a leading financial services organisation seeking an experienced Principal Software Engineer Technical Lead to join its technology division.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled software engineering professional to play a key role in shaping technical direction, driving engineering standards, and delivering modern microservices and user interfaces that support complex, business-critical financial applications.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
You will have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent qualification, alongside a passion for continuous learning and technology innovation.
Required Experience
- Minimum 10 years of software design and development experience.
- Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
- Experience with Angular or a similar front-end framework.
- Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
- Experience working within Agile teams and delivering incremental business value.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD tools such as Maven and Jenkins.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with automated testing tools such as Karate, Playwright, Storybook, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
- Exposure to AWS and/or Kubernetes.
- Exposure to messaging technologies such as Kafka.
- Investment Management or Financial Services domain knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technical Lead, you will:
- Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to engineers across the team.
- Promote engineering excellence through code reviews, automation, testing, and DevOps best practices.
- Contribute to architecture and design decisions for business-critical applications.
- Partner with Product Owners, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Help establish and maintain engineering standards across the team.
- Support the development and enhancement of scalable, secure, and resilient applications.
- Drive continuous improvement across software development processes and engineering practices.
