Principal Software Engineer (Full Stack)
Summary
A hands-on principal engineer leads a team building micro-services and UIs for an asset management technology group serving retirement and college savings solutions ($950B+ AUM). Daily work spans Java/Spring Boot backends, Angular frontends, DevOps/CI-CD pipelines, and setting team standards for testing and code reviews.
We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to lead a team within our client's Asset Management Technology group. You will be a hands‑on developer contributing to building a suite of Micro‑Services and UIs. The team is responsible for designing & implementing technical solutions for the Asset Management Solutions division which provides retirement and college saving solutions.
The Expertise And Skills You Bring
- You have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent and you want to learn more.
- A minimum of 10 years of design & development experience.
- Experience in Java, SpringBoot, RESTful services and Angular or similar
- DevOps enablers such as Maven and Jenkins
- Karate, Playwright, Storybook or similar testing frameworks is a plus
- As well as experience in Oracle SQL & PLSQL
- Exposure to Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Kubernetes would be an advantage
- Messaging frameworks such as Kafka would be good but not necessary
- Investment Management/Business Domain business insight would be advantage, but it is not required.

- Ability to manage priorities effectively across multiple workstreams
- Ability to triage, complete root cause analysis, and ability to make sound decisions in complex or time‑sensitive situations
- Ability to promote and set standards in applying practices across the team in areas such as Unit testing, Automation, DevOps, CI/CD, design, and code reviews
- Ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups, both in person and virtually, in a constructive and collaborative manner and build and maintain effective relationships
