Principal Software Engineer - Noida
Summary
Principal engineer leading design and delivery of Java/Spring Boot financial systems on AWS, focusing on JMS messaging, transactional databases, and security-hardened CI/CD for a capital-markets platform.
Our Context
NeoXam is looking for a Principal Software Engineer to provide deep technical leadership on ARO, our core platform product. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for an engineer who can design and build complex, high-throughput systems, set technical direction across a Java-based, JMS-driven services architecture, and raise the engineering bar for the team through example, code review, and mentorship — without formal people management responsibility.
Your Missions - Role & Responsibility
• Own the technical design and architecture of key ARO components, ensuring scalability, resilience, and maintainability.
• Lead the identification, triage, and remediation of security vulnerabilities across application code, dependencies, and infrastructure, including CVEs surfaced by SCA/SAST/DAST tooling.
• Define and drive secure coding standards and vulnerability remediation processes, including patching cadence, risk prioritization, and dependency upgrade strategy.
• Partner with security and compliance teams to address audit findings and penetration test results within agreed SLAs.
• Design, build, and evolve JMS-based messaging services and asynchronous processing flows that handle transactional financial data.
• Work closely with the transactional database layer, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity for high-volume transactional workloads.
• Lead the design and deployment of services on AWS, applying sound practices for security, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Drive and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions (or equivalent GitHub-based workflows), enabling fast, reliable, and automated delivery.
• Set and enforce coding standards, architectural principles, and best practices across the ARO engineering team through code reviews and technical guidance.
• Partner with product managers, architects, and other engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Identify and resolve complex performance, concurrency, and reliability issues in production systems.
• Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, elevating the technical capability of the broader team.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps, evaluate new technologies, and drive modernization initiatives for the ARO platform.
Your Profile
• 8–12 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record of designing and delivering large-scale, production-grade systems.
• Proficiency in developing and maintaining Java Spring Boot–based applications, REST APIs, and event-based architecture
• Hands-on experience designing and operating JMS-based (or similar message-broker-based) service architectures.
• Strong experience with transactional databases (e.g., Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server), including transaction management, data consistency, and performance optimization.
• Solid working knowledge of AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, IAM) and cloud architecture best practices.
• Practical experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub and GitHub Actions (or comparable tools).
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, distributed systems concepts, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Experience in the financial services, asset management, or capital markets domain is a strong plus.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams without direct authority.
• A pragmatic, quality-first mindset with a track record of balancing technical excellence and delivery timelines.
• Proven experience remediating security vulnerabilities in Java applications and their dependencies, including working with SCA tools (e.g., Snyk, Dependency-Check, GitHub Dependabot) and SAST/DAST scanners.
Solid understanding of secure coding practices (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and common vulnerability classes affecting Java, JMS, a
