Principal System Design Engineer

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Identify customer requirements, define and execute technical project plans, manage project milestones, and conduct technical reviews to ensure solutions meet market needs and deployment readiness.
  • Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, external partners, and suppliers to design and implement custom automated test solutions.
  • Manage the specification, design, development, testing, and deployment of turnkey automated testing systems using established engineering methodologies and development guidelines.
  • Own and deliver all technical project deliverables.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to development team members involved in the creation of custom integrated systems.
  • Contribute directly to technical deliverables, including instrument selection, measurement software development, system integration, and deployment activities.
  • Guide technical decision-making and drive resolution of field-identified issues.
  • Design and develop reusable software and system frameworks that can be leveraged across multiple projects.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in system integration and software development using technologies such as LabVIEW, TestStand, PXI, C++, or related platforms.
  • Experience providing technical leadership or leading project teams.
  • Strong understanding of engineering design principles and system development methodologies.
  • Strong English communication skills and experience working directly with customers and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and succeed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience developing and deploying integrated hardware and software test systems.
  • Experience working on customer-facing engineering projects within the test and measurement industry.
  • Experience developing reusable frameworks, architectures, or platforms that support multiple projects.
  • Familiarity with automated test and validation environments.
