Principal Technical Specialist - Network Security & Firewalls

We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Specialist to support a major enterprise firewall replacement and upgrade program.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on Check Point firewall deployments, upgrades and migrations within a large, complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Check Point firewall deployments, replacements, upgrades and configuration.
• Support Palo Alto firewalls and Secure Web Gateway technologies.
• Integrate firewall infrastructure with Cisco routing and switching.
• Support F5 LTM, GTM and WAF solutions.
• Manage firewall policies and rulebase optimisation using AlgoSec.
• Troubleshoot complex network security issues and provide Level 3 technical support.
• Produce technical designs, implementation plans, change and rollback documentation.
• Work with project teams, vendors and operational teams to deliver firewall upgrades.

Technical Requirements Essential:

• Extensive hands-on Check Point firewall experience, including builds, upgrades and replacements.
• Strong knowledge of Check Point SmartConsole and firewall management.
• Enterprise Cisco routing and switching experience.
• Proven experience delivering firewall implementation or migration projects.
• Strong troubleshooting, technical documentation and change management skills.

Highly Desirable:

• Palo Alto Networks / Secure Web Gateway
• F5 LTM, GTM and WAF
• AlgoSec or equivalent NSPM tools
• SolarWinds
• Check Point CCSA / CCSE certification
• ServiceNow / ITIL
