Description

Private Chef – Executive Household

Scottsdale, Arizona | Full-Time | $150,000–$175,000 DOE + Benefits

LOCAL CANDIDATES HIGHLY PREFERRED

We are seeking an exceptionally skilled, seasoned Private Chef to join a distinguished private executive couple's household in Scottsdale, Arizona, with seasonal travel to Colorado during the summer months.

This opportunity is ideally suited to a mature, accomplished culinary professional with a background in fine dining and private service—someone who has reached a level of confidence and mastery in their career where the satisfaction comes from the quality of the work itself rather than the pursuit of recognition.

The ideal candidate brings the highest culinary standards, an appreciation for sourcing top ingredients, and the versatility to prepare an exciting range of international cuisines. Equally important is a calm, gracious, and grounded personality, with the emotional intelligence and flexibility to thrive in a highly personalized private household environment.

The Position

The Private Chef will be responsible for preparing exceptional daily lunches and dinners, with an emphasis on refined, beautifully presented, multi-course dining. The household maintains traditional standards of formal dining and places tremendous value on culinary quality, consistency, thoughtful menu planning, and attention to detail.

Ingredient sourcing is of particular importance. The household prioritizes the finest available products, including premium seafood, specialty meats, and other exceptional ingredients sourced from leading purveyors.

This is a wonderful opportunity for a chef who genuinely enjoys the creative process of cooking, appreciates the nuances of a sophisticated palate, and takes pride in delivering an outstanding dining experience day after day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare exceptional, restaurant-caliber lunches and dinners, maintaining consistent standards of flavor, technique, presentation, and execution.

  • Develop thoughtful, varied menus showcasing a broad range of international cuisines, classic preparations, and contemporary culinary techniques.

  • Source the highest-quality seasonal produce, seafood, meats, and specialty ingredients from premier purveyors and trusted suppliers.

  • Prepare dishes from scratch, including fresh baked goods, breads, desserts, and other house-made specialties.

  • Offer variety and thoughtful choices while remaining attentive to established preferences and expectations.

  • Execute refined, multi-course meals with the precision and consistency expected in a formal private household.

  • Maintain an impeccably organized, clean, and professionally run kitchen.

  • Adapt menus and preparations with flexibility, sound judgment, and an unwavering commitment to quality.

Ideal Candidate

We are particularly interested in an established culinary professional whose experience speaks for itself and who finds genuine fulfillment in providing exceptional private service.

The successful candidate will offer:

  • Extensive high-level culinary experience, ideally combining prestigious fine-dining kitchens with service in distinguished private households.

  • Exceptional versatility across cuisines, with the confidence to execute everything from elegant European classics to a broad repertoire of international dishes.

  • Expertise in premium ingredient sourcing, with established knowledge of exceptional suppliers, specialty products, and seasonal ingredients.

  • Strong pastry and baking skills, including an appreciation for traditional, beautifully executed baked goods and desserts.

  • A refined yet adaptable culinary approach, balancing creativity with an understanding that consistency and personal preferences are paramount in private service.

  • A composed, low-key, and gracious demeanor, with maturity, patience, discretion, and excellent emotional intelligence.

  • A service-oriented mindset, taking personal satisfaction in anticipating needs, accommodating preferences, and contributing to a harmonious household.

  • Professional confidence without ego, bringing the perspective and quiet assurance of someone who is secure in their accomplishments.

Above all, we seek someone who brings warmth, common sense, reliability, and a naturally accommodating spirit to their work. This position calls for a chef who understands that excellence in private service is measured not only by culinary achievement but also by consistency, adaptability, and the ability to make daily life more enjoyable for those they serve.

Location & Travel

The position is based in Scottsdale, Arizona, with seasonal travel to Colorado during the summer months. Candidates must be comfortable traveling as part of their regular professional responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual Salary: $150,000–$175,000, depending on experience and qualifications.

The household offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • 401(k) retirement plan with a 6% employer match.

  • 15 days of paid time off annually

  • Bonus opportunities

  • Annual performance reviews

A Rewarding Opportunity for the Right Chef

This is a distinctive opportunity for an accomplished chef who values stability, professional respect, outstanding ingredients, and the pleasure of creating beautiful food in a private setting.

We welcome candidates who have enjoyed successful careers in demanding, high-profile culinary environments and are now drawn to a more personal style of service—one where experience, good judgment, culinary excellence, and a thoughtful approach to hospitality are genuinely appreciated.

The ideal chef will bring exceptional talent, a steady temperament, and the quiet confidence that comes from a career spent mastering their craft.
