OVERVIEW: The Private Client Group Closing Agent supports successful financial and FANS performance within the MarineMax F&I Department. This role will drive customer satisfaction (FANS) and compliance, ensuring effective deal management excellence and maximizing F&I profitability for the Business Office. The Private Client Group Closing Agent is customer facing and will assist with all stages of larger, complex yacht transactions, ensuring the successful coordination and completion of contracts and final deal closings. This position requires a combination of legal, logistical, and financial expertise to ensure smooth and efficient processes from contract signing through to final payment and transfer of ownership rights, while ensuring compliance with all company, state and federal laws and regulations. The Private Client Group Closing Agent will embody the mission and values of MarineMax to positively impact results-driven growth and profitability, while maintaining a high degree of professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enthusiastically embrace the MarineMax values, mission statement and vision, while effectively conveying these to all team members through your example.
  • Always minimize exposure to MarineMax and comply with all company, state and federal laws and regulations, while keeping the President of Financial Services informed of any potential risks or exposures.
  • Review and prepare all necessary closing documents related to the sale, purchase, or charter or vessels, ensuring accuracy and compliance with maritime laws and regulations.
  • Work closely with legal, financial, and operational teams to ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and in proper order and ensure that all contractual obligations are met by both parties before closing.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between buyers, sellers, shipowners, brokers, legal representatives, and financial institutions and coordinate the logistics of the closing process, ensuring all parties are aligned and deadlines are met.
  • Facilitate communication and resolution of any disputes or issues that arise before or during the closing process.
  • Ensure proper handling of financial aspects of the closing process, including payments, deposits, and escrow accounts and verify all payments and financial arrangements are in place before the transaction is finalized.
  • Work closely with banks, financial institutions, and escrow agents to ensure funds are transferred correctly and in a timely manner and ensure all transactions comply with applicable maritime laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct due diligence checks on vessels, ensuring clear titles and that no outstanding liens or encumbrances exist.
  • Oversee the final transfer of ownership, ensuring that all legal and financial requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all necessary registrations, certificates, and regulatory filings are completed after the transaction is closed and provide support and guidance to clients after the closing, including assistance with documentation.
  • Maintain daily deal management of the Revenue Projection Report (RPR), including but not limited to; deposit schedules, deal status, deal comments, closing dates, etc.
  • Address and resolve customer satisfaction issues in a timely manner and project a professional and knowledgeable image to all customers and team members.
  • Be responsible for actively participating in boat shows, selling events and other off-site promotions such as Getaways!
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends by collaborating with key stakeholders and attending workshops as directed.
