Mid-Plains Center is looking for Weekend Warrior RNs to join our Crisis Stabilization Unit team. This is a great opportunity for nurses who want to work PRN hours primarily on weekends while maintaining flexibility during the rest of the week.

Whether you're looking to supplement your current nursing position, ease into behavioral health, or simply want a rewarding way to pick up additional hours, we'd love to have you on our team.

What You'll Do

As a Weekend Warrior RN, you will play an important role in providing safe, compassionate care to individuals receiving crisis stabilization and substance use services.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct nursing assessments and monitor consumers' physical and behavioral health needs
  • Safely administer medications in accordance with provider orders
  • Monitor medication effectiveness, side effects, and changes in condition
  • Provide nursing support and crisis intervention in a fast-paced behavioral health environment
  • Perform triage assessments and gather relevant clinical information
  • Communicate changes in condition and other clinical concerns to providers and the treatment team
  • Participate in treatment planning, team staffing, and care coordination
  • Complete accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Perform end-of-shift chart audits and help maintain high standards of quality and compliance
  • Work collaboratively with behavioral health professionals, nursing staff, and other members of the care team

What You Bring

  • Current Nebraska RN license in good standing
  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills
  • Previous behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus
