Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Charge Nurse to lead our 6A-2P shift, ensuring exceptional patient care and operational excellence within a fast-paced healthcare environment. As a Charge Nurse, you will serve as a pivotal team leader, coordinating nursing activities, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice. Duties

  • Provide direct supervision and support to staff during the 6A-2P shift, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols and safety standards.
  • Coordinate patient care activities across units, including assessments, medication administration, and documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
  • Oversee patient admissions, discharges, and transfers while ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements like HIPAA.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff—to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient vital signs, conduct physical examinations when necessary, and respond promptly to emergent situations such as airway management or acute pain episodes.
  • Lead incident investigations, complete detailed incident reports, and participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards.
  • Manage staffing schedules, supervise team members’ performance, provide mentorship for new nurses, and facilitate ongoing training on topics like infection control and aseptic technique.
