Process Analyst
Summary
The Process Analyst will curate, structure, and visualize manufacturing and process data for Kerry’s Enzyme Process Technology team. The role involves integrating data from systems like SAP, MES, and SCADA to provide insights that optimize production and operational performance.
About Kerry
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Process Analyst to work as the data and analytics interface for Kerry’s Enzyme Process Technology (PT) Team. Embedded within the wider PT team, over three production sites, the role will focus on curating, structuring, analysing, and visualising process data across the entirety of the microbial enzyme production life cycle.
The successful candidate will partner closely with the PT teams on site to curate, structure and visualise manufacturing and process data from Kerry’s core systems (including SAP, EPM/MES platforms, SCADA systems and local Excel based datasets), turning complex and fragmented data streams into clear insights that support yield, recovery, productivity, process robustness and facilitate operational excellence.
Key responsibilities
Data Curation & Integration
• Extract, clean and harmonise process and manufacturing data from
• SAP (process orders, batch data, confirmations, material movements, yields)
• EPM / MES / LIMS / SCADA systems
• Site level Excel trackers and historical datasets
• Resolve inconsistencies between system data and off-line data repositories
• Improve transparency and traceability of process performance data
• Understand how SAP master data structures influence process orders, confirmations, yields, and performance reporting
Process & Manufacturing Analytics
• Analyse and trend process performance data across the end-to-end enzyme production process, including Inoculum preparation and cultivation; Fermentation metrics and profiles; and Downstream operational parameters and yields
• Support PT with robust analysis of key performance indices including yield and rolled throughput yield; recovery of unit operations; Enzyme titre and productivity; Losses, variability and deviation impacts
• Provide analytical support to process optimisation initiatives and continuous improvement projects
• Work with PAT and IoT-enabled sensors, historians, and data acquisition systems to contextualise high-frequency process data alongside batch and transactional datasets
Data Architecture
• Design and implement practical data frameworks and architecture to improve data accessibility and data reliability
• Reduce manual data handling by improving integration between SAP and reporting tools, while standardising data flows and calculation logic
• Work with each respective production site to align on data architecture and tools
• Clearly document datasets, assumptions and calculations used in PT reporting
Visualisation & Reporting
• Translate complex, multivariate datasets into clear, decision focused visuals, using Power BI dashboards for site, Excel based tools, PowerPoint etc
• Develop standardised visual and reporting templates to illustrate end-to-end process data
Collaboration within Process Technology
• Operate as a core member of the Process Technology team to help improve transparency and accessible to process data
• Leverage expertise from the PT teams to interpret biological data and benchmark expected process outcomes
• Work with the wide team to help coordinate how data may be collected, stored and modelled from operational process data and equipment
Qualifications and skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Science, Biotechnology, or related field with a MSc or PhD preferred
• Experience applying data engineering principles (data pipelines, transformations, data quality controls) in a manufacturing or process environment with complex and various data streams
• Solid industrial process/data analytics experience, operating at a moderate to advanced level
• Advanced capability in Power BI, Excel, PowerPoint and other related platforms is a necessity
• Experience in working with SAP and managing its datasets is a strong advantage
• A proven understanding of data modelling, architecture and scalable analytical frameworks
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders
• Advanced English proficiency
