Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer
Description
A Process Engineer / Chemical Engineer designs, optimizes, and troubleshoots industrial and chemical manufacturing systems to turn raw materials into valuable products safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Process Design & Development: Create and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and mass/energy balances.
Scale-Up: Transition chemical processes from small-scale laboratory and pilot plants to full commercial production.
Optimization & Troubleshooting: Monitor plant parameters, diagnose operational bottlenecks or equipment failures, and fix quality or yield deviations.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations, including conducting Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOP) and Process Safety Management (PSM) reviews.
Simulation & Modeling: Use software tools such as Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, MATLAB, or ChemCAD to model reactions and run system simulations.
