Lead and support the development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing and repair processes for parts, assemblies, and tooling. Provide technical documentation, specification of work scope, and support to technicians and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. Act as a technical representative to customers and suppliers, striving for customer satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, document, and optimize manufacturing and repair processes for new and repeat products, including tooling and assemblies.
- Review customer and OEM drawings, specifications, and requirements to ensure compliance and quality.
- Create part and assembly instructions, work order routers, and process documentation to route products through efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective operations.
- Specify and oversee quality requirements for components, final inspection, and documentation prior to shipping.
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support to technicians and cross-functional teams.
- Apply continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methods to enhance quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with suppliers and outside tooling vendors to fulfill customer specifications and improve tooling.
- Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
- Assist in identifying inventory requirements for tooling components.
- Engage cross-functionally with operations, programming, quality, and tooling to review product designs, prepare quotes, and improve quality control.
- Direct and support technicians on troubleshooting, testing, maintenance, and repairs for tooling and equipment.
- Perform other duties and specific projects as assigned.
