Responsibilities
Process Engineer
Wilkes-Barre, PA Travel: Up to 25% to Ohio site At Morgan Advanced Materials, manufacturing isn't just about making parts. It's about finding better ways to do things, reducing waste, improving quality, and ensuring people go home safely at the end of the day.We're looking for a Process Engineer who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems on the shop floor, and driving real improvements across manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with teams in both Pennsylvania and Ohio to standardize processes, improve yields, reduce scrap, and help bring new products and processes to life.The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll spend time analyzing processes, working with production teams, investigating issues, and leading continuous improvement initiatives. You'll be the bridge between engineering, quality, and operations, helping turn data into practical solutions.If you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges rather than just talking about them, you'll fit right in.What You'll Do
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, productivity, and throughput
- Capture and analyze current manufacturing processes, then identify opportunities to reduce variation and improve performance
- Support process qualification activities and implement improvements during new product launches
- Run process evaluations, troubleshooting activities, and root cause investigations on the shop floor
- Develop and maintain bills of materials, work instructions, procedures, and control plans
- Conduct PFMEAs and support risk reduction initiatives
- Lead corrective and preventive actions to address quality and production concerns
- Develop sampling plans and data collection methods to support quality and customer requirements
- Utilize statistical analysis, DOE methodologies, SPC tools, and Minitab to drive decisions
- Validate measurement systems through techniques such as Gage R&R and Gage Linearity studies
- Train and support manufacturing associates on best practices and process improvements
- Partner with cross-functional teams to introduce and sustain new manufacturing methods
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 5+ years of manufacturing, process engineering, or continuous improvement experience
- Strong understanding of manufacturing systems and statistical process control
- Experience using structured problem-solving tools such as 8D, Pareto Analysis, and PDCA
- Working knowledge of Minitab and data-driven improvement techniques
- Experience conducting PFMEAs and supporting process validations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Familiarity with GD&T, Measurement Systems Analysis, and metrology principles
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality systems is helpful
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and waste reduction initiatives preferred
- CAD or 3D design software experience is a plus
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production, quality, and leadership teams
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem solving. You'll be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and investigating issues where they happen, not just from behind a desk
