JOB PURPOSE:

Support accurate, reliable, and sustainable measurement operations through stewardship of measurement software, test methods, data analysis tools, and system documentation.

Drive modernization of legacy measurement systems, improve technical transparency of measurement calculations and business rules, and support internal and external stakeholders through technical investigation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement activities.

Inspired by the existing focus on testing accuracy and process improvement but targeted specifically at measurement systems and technical infrastructure.

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:

BS in Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or related technical field

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience supporting manufacturing systems, engineering software, measurement systems, or technical process improvement.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: (Preferred qualifications)

• 3+ years supporting manufacturing or laboratory measurement systems.
• Experience with C#, VB.NET, SQL, Python, or similar technical tools.
• Experience with automated test systems.
• Experience working with measurement equipment suppliers and external technical resources.
• Understanding software validation and configuration management.
• Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Support and improve measurement client applications used within measurement operations.
• Investigate, document, and validate measurement calculations, algorithms, and business rules used by measurement systems.
• Modernize legacy measurement clients and workflows to improve maintainability, usability, and operational effectiveness.
• Work with support organizations to define, test, and implement changes affecting measurement software and related systems.
• Support troubleshooting efforts involving measurement clients, equipment interfaces, and data flow between systems.
• Analyze measurement data and system behavior to identify technical issues, business rule conflicts, and opportunities for improvement.
• Develop and maintain documentation for measurement methods, client functionality, calculations, and system workflows.
• Support validation and acceptance testing of software changes affecting measurement operations.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, suppliers, and customers to investigate measurement-related issues.
• Assist with training and knowledge transfer related to measurement methods, client applications, and system functionality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to understand and evaluate technical algorithms, calculations, and engineering software.
• Proficiency with databases (SQL or similar) and engineering data analysis tools.
• Experience with software troubleshooting and system integration.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail when evaluating measurement results, calculations, and system behavior.
• Ability to balance operational support with longer-term modernization efforts.
• Intellectual curiosity and willingness to investigate legacy systems and undocumented processes.
