Process Engineer

Summary

Process Engineer improves manufacturing reliability and yield by optimizing shop-floor processes, troubleshooting equipment, and implementing preventive maintenance in a specialized aerospace/manufacturing environment.

Job Overview

Reporting to the Engineering Leader, he/she will be responsible for driving and meeting product reliability and improving product yield.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Provide shop floor day to day support and enquiry.
  • Continuously identify process improvement opportunities so as to achieve better product quality and work efficiency.
  • Support production on both existing and new fixture designing, modification and purchase.
  • Perform process non-conformance gap analysis and establish corrective & preventive actions.
  • Establish process/equipment preventive maintenance schedule/plan and liaison with contractor on its implementation
  • Provide process equipment breakdown troubleshooting support and liaison with contractor on equipment recovery.
  • Provide and implement process equipment reliability & availability improvement plans.
  • Create and maintain necessary shop document to ensure comply with specification revision. (OHRW Process Sheet, Plating Data Sheet, Plating Masking Data Sheet, Tooling drawing & master list, Procedures, Forms)
  • Conduct HS&E risk assessment for current and new equipment/process. (Chemical risk, General risk, Ergonomic risk, Environmental risk)
  • Set up new specification capability on existing special processes.
  • Set up new special process capability for new product.
  • Set up new equipment / machine or modify existing set up for increase capability.
  • Review special processes requirement for new product part number / CMM.
  • Track, monitor and updating of respective Policy Deployment KPIs.
  • Conduct special process training to technicians.

Job requirements

  • Engineering Degree preferable in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Aerospace.
  • At least 2 years of relevant working experience in the Special Process Manufacturing Industry.
  • Technically competent with the ability to adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Good people management and leadership skills.
  • Effective communications skills and ability to interact with all levels.
  • Good coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft office applications.
