Process Engineer
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and driven Process Engineer to join our team in Austin. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes are optimized and controlled to produce high-quality parts efficiently—balancing equipment performance, cycle time, cost, and material usage.
This is a hands-on, problem-solving role that requires strong technical expertise, collaboration with production teams, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and maintain manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency and product quality
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues beyond the scope of Process Technicians
- Provide oversight and training on processes, robotics, and assembly equipment
- Support off-shift operations and be available to address urgent processing challenges
- Apply structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., DOE, capability studies) to improve processes
- Read and interpret tooling prints and create or update procedures and work instructions
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, quality standards, and OSHA safety requirements
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment optimization
- Ability to read tooling prints and develop technical documentation
- Experience with structured problem-solving tools and methodologies
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Prior experience training or mentoring team members is a plus
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to moving mechanical equipment
- Occasional exposure to heat and vibration
- Moderate noise levels in the production environment
- Must follow safety requirements, including appropriate attire around machinery
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 45 pounds
- Ability to communicate effectively (talk, hear, and follow instructions)
