AGE Solutions is seeking a Lead Cybersecurity Modernization Architect to serve as the senior technical advisor supporting Department of Defense risk management and cybersecurity modernization initiatives. The successful candidate will provide strategic technical leadership, independent technical analysis, architectural guidance, modernization recommendations, and executive decision support to Government leadership while leading enterprise cybersecurity modernization efforts focused on cybersecurity tool portfolio rationalization, Risk Management Framework (RMF) transformation, workflow automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), emerging technologies, and the development of multi-year modernization roadmaps.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Serve as a senior technical advisor to Government leadership on cybersecurity modernization initiatives.
  • Lead enterprise cybersecurity tool portfolio assessments and recommend whether technologies should be sustained, improved, consolidated, replaced, or retired.
  • Lead RMF and ATO modernization efforts focused on reducing administrative burden, improving workflow efficiency, and accelerating authorization timelines.
  • Develop and maintain multi-year modernization roadmaps addressing systems, processes, workflows, data, and tooling.
  • Lead stakeholder interviews, workshops, and technical working sessions across cybersecurity and risk management mission areas.
  • Evaluate COTS, SaaS, cloud, automation, and AI-enabled technologies for applicability within DoD environments.
  • Independently assess vendor technical claims, integration feasibility, implementation risks, and architectural impacts.
  • Develop executive briefings, technical recommendations, architectural guidance, and decision-support materials.
  • Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of cybersecurity, RMF, automation, and AI specialists.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior Government leaders and executive-level audiences.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:

  • 15+ years of progressive technical experience in cybersecurity, systems engineering, enterprise architecture, or technology modernization.
    • 5+ years in a Chief Architect, Chief Engineer, CTO, Technical Director, or equivalent senior advisory role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise cybersecurity modernization, RMF/ATO transformation, tool rationalization, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Experience developing technical roadmaps, architectural recommendations, and executive-level briefings.
  • Experience evaluating commercial technologies, vendor solutions, demonstrations, and proofs of concept.
  • Experience advising senior Government leadership and leading cross-functional technical teams.
  • Demonstrated hands-on technical knowledge of one or more current Government risk management tools and modern SharePoint/Power Platform environments.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework as defined in NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI-1253, DoDI 8500.01, and DoDI 8510.01, as well as familiarity with continuous ATO (cATO) and Zero Trust reference architectures.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of current AI/ML and Generative AI capabilities, automation technologies (RPA, workflow engines), and integration patterns (APIs, event-driven architectures) relevant to enterprise risk management.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Visio (architecture and workflow modeling) and Microsoft PowerPoint (executive-quality briefings).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts for executive audiences and to credibly analyze and validate vendor technical claims.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Clearance:

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility required.

Certifications:

  • Current DoD 8140/8570 IAM Level III certification or equivalent required.

Location:

  • This is a hybrid position. Must be able to travel periodically to Fort Meade, MD and Chambersburg, PA to support customer meetings, workshops, and program activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), or other Federal cybersecurity organizations.
  • Experience developing multi-year technology modernization roadmaps.
  • Experience supporting RMF, Cloud A&A, cATO, STIG, SRG, CCI, SCRM, Cross Domain, or Incident Response mission areas.
  • Experience briefing SES, General Officer, Flag Officer, or equivalent senior leadership.
  • Lean Six Sigma, PMP, ITIL 4, cloud architecture, or AI-related certifications.

The projected salary range for this position is $175,000+ annually. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including years of relevant experience, active security clearance level, certifications, technical skillset, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
