Process Technician (Senior Process Operator)

Basic
Function | The Process
Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of
process equipment and systems to ensure the efficient and consistent
production of goods or services. They work closely with the production team
to maintain process stability, optimize performance, and address any
process-related issues or deviations. |
Duties
& Responsibilities | • Operate and monitor various process
equipment, instrumentation, and control systems, such as reactors,
distillation columns, filtration units, and packaging lines • Perform routine inspections,
adjustments, and minor maintenance on process equipment to maintain optimal
operating conditions • Collect and analyze process data,
including temperature, pressure, flow rates, and product quality
measurements, to identify trends and potential issues • Implement process control strategies
and make adjustments to setpoints, flows, and other process parameters to
maintain product quality and process stability • Troubleshoot process upsets, equipment
malfunctions, and quality deviations, and take appropriate corrective actions
to restore normal operations • Document process activities, log
operational data, and maintain detailed records of process changes, equipment
maintenance, and quality control measures • Assist in the development and
implementation of process improvement initiatives, including the evaluation
of new technologies, equipment, and operating procedures • Collaborate with other production,
maintenance, and quality assurance personnel to ensure effective coordination
and problem-solving across functional areas • Provide training and guidance to less
experienced process technicians or operators • Comply with all relevant health,
safety, and environmental regulations and standards, and actively promote a
culture of safety |
Requirements
Min.
Education & Skills Required | • A technical diploma or certificate in
Process Technology, Chemical Technology, or related fields may be preferred • 2-5 years of experience working as a
process technician or in a similar operations role, preferably in a
manufacturing or production environment • Strong understanding of process
control principles, instrumentation, and automation systems • Proficiency in the use of process
control software, data analysis tools, and enterprise resource planning (ERP)
systems • Ability to read and interpret process
flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and other
technical documentation • Problem-solving and critical-thinking
skills to diagnose and troubleshoot process issues • Attention to detail and strong
record-keeping skills to maintain accurate process documentation • Effective communication skills to
collaborate with cross-functional teams and report process performance |
