Procurement and Cost Data Manager | S3 | Procurement & Cost Management | Unity Place - Milton Keynes | Internal MobilityCountry: United Kingdom

IT STARTS HERE

Santander () is evolving from a global, high-impact brand into a technology-driven organisation, and our people are at the heart of this journey. Together, we are driving a customer-centric transformation that values bold thinking, innovation, and the courage to challenge what’s possible.

This is more than a strategic shift. It’s a chance for driven professionals to grow, learn, and make a real difference.

Our mission is to help more people and businesses prosper. We embrace a strong risk and performance culture and all our professionals, at all levels, are expected to take a proactive and responsible approach to financial stewardship and cost management.

The Procurement & Cost Management function plays a critical role in ensuring that our spend, investments and cost base align with our strategic goals, deliver sustainable value, and support operational excellence. It focuses on partnering the business, optimising cost, and shaping commercial decisions to drive long-term profitability and resilience.

By working closely with internal stakeholders, Procurement & Cost Management bridges strategic objectives and financial outcomes, ensuring that decisions on cost, investment and change directly contribute to business performance, innovation and sustainability.

THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE

  • We are looking for a Procurement & Cost Data Manager to join our analytics team. You will analyse and interpret cost, transaction and third-party risk data, translate stakeholder needs into effective reporting requirements and identify opportunities to improve the way data and management information are produced and used.
  • As we develop our delivery model with an external provider, you will provide oversight and quality assurance over reporting outputs, maintain a strong service for internal stakeholders and help ensure that reporting processes are efficient, well documented and supported by clear data lineage and audit trails.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively analysing transaction, cost, procurement and third-party risk data to identify trends, risks, opportunities and actionable insight.
  • Turning stakeholder requirements into concise, logical and efficient reporting solutions, making the best use of existing data and insight.
  • Producing clear executive analysis and presentations, including ESG insight, often to short deadlines.
  • Identifying recommendations for spend and contract consolidation, process improvement and automation across end-to-end procurement.
  • Owning integration tracking and bringing together existing and new data sources to strengthen procurement and cost intelligence.
  • Providing regular oversight and quality assurance of the external provider’s reporting, controls, documentation and performance.
  • Acting as a subject-matter contact for Procurement & Cost data queries, resolving issues and escalating data architecture or supplier performance concerns through the appropriate channels.
  • Working with Source-to-Pay, systems and user-experience colleagues to improve reporting processes and implement automation opportunities aligned with the bank’s wider data strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

You will combine analytical depth with strong stakeholder skills. You will be comfortable working independently, challenging constructively and explaining complex data in straightforward terms to technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential experience and capabilities

  • Experience of data management and analysis using SQL, Snowflake, Power BI and SAP Analytics Cloud. (Required)
  • Experience developing reporting, data visualisation and robust management information that provides insight into end-to-end procurement performance. (Required)
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and a disciplined approach to data quality, reporting controls, lineage and audit evidence. (Required)
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders at different levels, facilitate discussions and translate requirements into practical outputs. (Preferred)
  • Confidence to challenge business processes or information constructively and act as a catalyst for change. (Preferred)
  • Ability to organise work effectively, manage competing demands and deliver high-quality analysis to strict deadlines. (Preferred)

Desirable experience

  • Knowledge of end-to-end procurement systems, processes and data.
  • Agile development experience and the ability to support or coach colleagues in iterative ways of working.
  • Understanding of the financial services industry and its products and services.
  • A relevant technical accreditation in data management, analytics or a related product
