The Procurement Category Analyst role works closely with Category Specialists to execute sourcing activities, including, but not limited to, the preparation of RFQ packages, analysis of supplier proposals, pricing evaluations, review of terms and conditions, contract management (pricing agreements, supply agreements, etc.), and supplier relationship management. This position is responsible for ensuring that SAP master data is accurately maintained to support optimal pricing, supply continuity, and supplier performance for externally procured materials. The role also represents the Procurement function on cross-functional teams, collaborating with Engineering, Finance, Quality, and Operations to support change management initiatives. A successful candidate will have experience in procurement processes and SAP, along with strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Responsibilities
As Procurement Category Analyst your responsibilities would include but are not limited to the following:
- Support the execution of strategic sourcing and competitive bidding activities, including RFQ preparation, supplier quote analysis, bid evaluation, and negotiations.
- Analyze supplier proposals to assess commercial competitiveness, terms and conditions, and overall value to the business.
- Create, maintain, and optimize procurement-related SAP master data, including Info Records, Source Lists, Purchasing Info Records, and other procurement parameters.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of SAP procurement data to support optimal pricing, supplier performance, and supply continuity.
- Manage and maintain SAP purchasing data related to lead times, sourcing decisions, supplier information, and contract pricing.
- Analyze supplier quotations, award decisions, and sourcing outcomes to determine and implement the appropriate SAP master data requirements.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Finance, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain, to support procurement initiatives and change management activities.
- Support contract administration, including pricing agreements, supply agreements, and related procurement documentation.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance procurement processes, data quality, and system efficiency.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of professional experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Purchasing, or a related business function.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems used for procurement and planning activities; SAP experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience with data analysis and reporting is a plus.
- Basic to intermediate project management knowledge and experience.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Willing to work standard hours of 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM PHST, including a one-hour break.
