Procurement Engineer
Job Responsibilities – Procurement Engineer
- Manage the procurement of engineering materials, equipment, spare parts, and technical services in accordance with project and operational requirements.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, and purchase requisitions to ensure procurement requirements are clearly defined.
- Identify, evaluate, and coordinate with qualified suppliers and subcontractors.
- Obtain and compare quotations based on price, quality, delivery schedule, technical compliance, and commercial terms.
- Prepare purchase orders, procurement documents, and supplier recommendations for approval.
- Coordinate with engineering, project, construction, and site teams to ensure materials are procured according to required specifications and schedules.
- Review suppliers’ technical offers, datasheets, catalogues, and compliance documents.
- Negotiate with suppliers on pricing, delivery, payment terms, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance, manufacturing progress, delivery schedules, and material availability.
- Coordinate inspection, testing, expediting, shipment, and delivery of procured items where required.
- Ensure purchased materials and equipment comply with approved specifications, quality standards, project requirements, and applicable Singapore regulations.
- Resolve issues relating to material shortages, quality problems, delays, substitutions, and non-conformities.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery documentation.
- Support cost control, budget monitoring, and procurement cost-saving initiatives.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
