Procurement Engineer
ey Responsibilities
- Source and evaluate suppliers for engineering materials, components, equipment, and services.
- Review technical specifications, drawings, BOMs, and project requirements before procurement.
- Prepare and issue RFQs (Requests for Quotation) and obtain competitive quotations from suppliers.
- Evaluate supplier quotations based on price, quality, technical compliance, lead time, and delivery capability.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, warranties, and other commercial conditions.
- Prepare purchase orders and ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures.
- Coordinate with design, engineering, production, project, and quality teams to confirm technical requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to monitor order status, production progress, and delivery schedules.
- Resolve issues relating to delayed deliveries, defective materials, incorrect specifications, or supplier performance.
- Conduct supplier evaluation and support the development of reliable supplier relationships.
- Identify alternative materials, components, and suppliers to reduce costs and minimise supply risks.
- Review technical and commercial documents provided by suppliers.
- Ensure purchased items meet required engineering specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support cost-saving and value-engineering initiatives.
- Maintain procurement records, supplier information, quotations, purchase orders, and delivery documentation.
- Assist in inventory planning and ensure critical materials are available according to project or production requirements.
- Monitor market conditions and material pricing to identify procurement opportunities and risks.
