Overview

A leading offshore energy project is seeking a highly experienced procurement expeditor – mechanical to manage end-to-end procurement activities. This role provides a hands-on opportunity to oversee complex procurement operations, ensure timely delivery of critical materials, and support project execution across engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction phases.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activities for offshore EPIC projects, ensuring successful delivery on time, within budget, and in line with project requirements.
  • Develop procurement strategies and plans for long-lead items and contractor procurement scopes.
  • Monitor engineering requisitions, track procurement progress, and coordinate with contractors’ buyers, expeditors, and inspectors.
  • Conduct vendor research, evaluation, audits, and selection for compliance with project requirements.
  • Maintain and update preferred vendor lists, incorporating lessons learned.
  • Attend technical and commercial meetings, providing procurement support and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee spare parts management, coordinating identification, tracking, and delivery with procurement, operations, end users, and warehouse teams.
  • Support process improvements, policy updates, and project close-out activities, identifying opportunities for cost and time optimisation.
  • Perform vendor shop and site visits as required for inspections, audits, or issue resolution.

Qualifications & experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from a recognised university.
  • Minimum 12 years’ procurement experience on major offshore oil & gas projects, preferably with EPIC project execution.
  • Comprehensive understanding of procurement processes: bid/award, buying, expediting, inspection.
  • Experience in developing procurement strategies and contractor procurement plans.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and lead procurement teams effectively.
