Procurement Manager

Overview

We are looking to fill the critical role of Procurement Manager in our datacenter team.You will lead strategic sourcing and supplier management activities across complex construction and infrastructure portfolios, ensuring the timely delivery of critical goods and services while optimizing cost, quality, risk, and schedule performance. The role develops category strategies, manages competitive sourcing events, negotiates commercial agreements, oversees supplier performance, and drives cross-functional alignment between engineering, construction, cost management, planning, and project delivery teams. Acting as the commercial interface between internal stakeholders and external suppliers, the Procurement Manager proactively manages market risks, supply constraints, change management, and contractual obligations, while leveraging analytics, performance metrics, and governance frameworks to support business objectives, operational excellence, and project success.

Within Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) , the Global Supply Chain team is responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing Microsoft Cloud for our customers. We support a portfolio of complex, multi-disciplinary, multi-billion, multi-year datacenter construction and lease projects and operations of those assets.

This role will be based at our office location in Milan, Italy or Madrid, Spain.



Responsibilities

Compliance

  • Ensure SLA, milestone, and deliverable compliance through timely execution, risk mitigation, contingency planning, and proactive stakeholder communication.

  • Drive policy adherence, supplier compliance, issue resolution, audits, governance, supplier performance reviews, and continuous improvement through data-driven insights and market intelligence.

Procurement and Contracts

  • Manage contracts, purchase orders, and change orders end-to-end, ensuring compliance, execution, supplier performance, risk resolution, business case alignment, and stakeholder collaboration.

  • Resolve escalated commercial and pricing issues while ensuring suppliers deliver according to contractual and purchase order requirements.

Sourcing

  • Lead RFIs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, SRM programs, scorecards, governance frameworks, and supplier performance management to deliver cost, capacity, quality, and business objectives.

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, leveraging market intelligence, supplier insights, benchmarking, innovation, risk management, business continuity planning, and value optimization.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Build strategic relationships with suppliers and drive cross-functional engagement, executive-aligned negotiation strategies, and early business involvement to define sourcing solutions, optimize spending, resolve disputes, and support informed decision-making.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND Good experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND Proven experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operations OR equivalent experience.

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND Proven experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operation OR Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, Business, Finance or related field AND Significant experience in data science/analytics, finance, project management, supply chain, and/or operations OR equivalent experience.

Sourcing and Category Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across Italy is € 85,700.00 - € 152,800.00 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
