Location: Local to Bedford, MA - HYBRID - Candidates must be local to MA, ideally within 20-30 miles of Bedford MA, 3 days onsite
Duration: 6 months
Hour: 40
Pay: 45-52/hr

Must:
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management experience
Summary:
We're looking for an ambitious, hands-on Procurement Manager who doesn't just manage procurement -- they challenge the way things are done and make them better.
This role is ideal for someone who sees inefficiencies as opportunities, enjoys building and streamlining processes, and wants to make a measurable impact across the business. You'll have the opportunity to influence how procurement operates, improve controls and workflows, drive supplier performance, and create efficiencies that positively impact the company's bottom line.
We're looking for someone who can roll up their sleeves, identify what isn't working, develop practical solutions, and drive change from idea through execution. You should be comfortable partnering across Global Finance, Legal, Operations, R&D, HR and IT teams, and business leadership, while bringing structure, accountability, and continuous improvement to the procurement function. If you've already been doing this -- improving processes, challenging the status quo, creating efficiencies, and making procurement a stronger business partner -- this job is for you.

About the Role
We are looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Procurement Manager who sees procurement as much more than purchasing. This is a role for someone who naturally asks, "Why do we do it this way?" and then has the drive and capability to make it better.
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of procurement activities while continuously improving the processes, systems, supplier relationships, and operating practices that support the function. This person will have the opportunity to influence how procurement operates across the organization, identify opportunities to reduce complexity, strengthen controls, improve stakeholder experience, and deliver measurable business value.
The ideal candidate is someone who has already demonstrated the ability to build, change, simplify, and improve procurement processes -- not someone who is looking to simply maintain an existing operation.
This role reports directly into the Sr. Director leading sourcing & procurement teams: The ideal candidate serves as a key extension of the Senior Director, taking ownership of strategic initiatives and independently driving cross-functional projects from concept through execution.

What You'll Do

Procurement Operations & Process Improvement by:
  • Evaluating existing procurement processes and identifying opportunities to eliminate unnecessary steps, reduce cycle times, improve controls, and enhance the internal customer experience
  • Designing, implementing, and continuously improving procurement policies, processes, workflows, and operating procedures
  • Standardizing procurement processes where appropriate while maintaining flexibility for business requirements
  • Identifying manual activities and opportunities for automation, digitization, and improved use of procurement technology
  • Improving source-to-contract and procure-to-pay workflows/processes in partnership with Global Finance, AP, Legal, IT, and business stakeholders
  • Developing practical solutions to recurring procurement problems rather than simply managing around them
  • Establishing appropriate governance, approval structures, controls, and documentation to support a scalable procurement organization
  • Leading or participating in procurement transformation and systems implementations initiatives
  • Operationalizing Walking Plastic Procurement Card program
  • Travel Administration: Concur administration, Travel policy support and Travel escalations
  • Supporting Visa demands: Drafting business invitation letters, Visa support documentation, Traveler visa coordination
  • Managing Global Credit Card Program: Partnering with Global Finance, Treasury and AP to provide travelers with the necessary credit cards and the right spending limits
Stakeholder & Business Partnership
  • Serve as a trusted procurement advisor to business leaders and functional stakeholders
  • Partner closely with sourcing and other functions to understand business requirements and develop effective procurement strategies
  • Bring procurement into business decisions early rather than treating procurement as a transactional function at the end of the process
  • Translate complex procurement issues into clear business recommendations for leadership
  • Build alignment across competing priorities and drive decisions through execution
Risk, Compliance & Governance
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, contractual requirements, and applicable regulations
  • Strengthening procurement controls without creating unnecessary operational friction
  • Support supplier due diligence, onboarding, risk assessment, and ongoing monitoring
  • Identify and mitigate supplier, contractual, operational, financial, and business-continuity risks
  • Maintain appropriate procurement documentation, audit trails, and governance standards
  • Partner with Legal and other stakeholders to ensure contracts appropriately protect the company's interests
Data, Analytics & Technology
  • Use procurement and spend data to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and areas requiring intervention
  • Develop and maintain meaningful procurement KPIs and dashboards
  • Continuously assess whether existing systems and tools are supporting -- or unnecessarily complicating -- the procurement process
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
  • Championing a culture of continuous improvement within procurement
  • Leading cross-functional projects and influence stakeholders without relying solely on organizational authority
  • Mentoring and developing procurement team members and promoting consistent procurement best practices
  • Staying current on procurement technology, market trends, supplier dynamics, and evolving best practices
  • Leading change effectively -- including communicating the why, building stakeholder alignment, and ensuring new processes become embedded in the organization
Within this role, success is not simply measured by the number of POs processed or sourcing events completed
Success means:
  • Procurement processes become simpler, faster, and easier for the business to navigate
  • Stakeholders view Procurement as a strategic business partner rather than a gatekeeper
  • Manual work and unnecessary process complexity are continuously eliminated
  • Procurement capabilities become more scalable as the company grows
  • The function leaves the business better than it found it
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business, Finance, Operations, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of progressive procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management experience
  • Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end sourcing initiatives
  • Experience managing a team, and a global portfolio of suppliers
  • Experience of working in a global environment and managing a team abroad
  • Demonstrated success improving procurement processes or operational workflows
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally with Finance, IT, Operations, and business leadership
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Proven expertise in Oracle EBS Internet Procurement, Purchasing, Suppliers, Credit Cards, and Approvals combined with advanced Excel and analytical skills
  • Strong analytical, financial, and commercial skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Logicgate experience is a plus
  • CPSM, CIPS, CSCP, or comparable procurement/supply chain certification is preferred.
