Procurement Manager

As the first dedicated Procurement Manager, you'll take ownership of the entire vendor lifecycle, from sourcing and technical vetting through to contract expiration. You will bridge operational needs, financial discipline, and regulatory compliance, reporting directly to the Head of Network. You'll act as the sole lead for procurement activities, managing Indirect Spend end-to-end and supporting Direct Spend strategically and administratively. You'll be the go-to administrator for the procurement tool, setting it up further, creating work instructions, and training stakeholders. You'll build and enhance procurement policies, including a risk-tiered decision tree, fast-track review paths, and standardised business case templates. You'll proactively manage contract expirations and notice periods, partnering with business owners on renew-versus-cancel decisions. You'll work closely with 2nd-line Outsourcing Management to ensure compliance with MaRisk, DORA, NIS2, and KRITIS. You'll leverage your understanding of cloud infrastructure to challenge technical spend and negotiate favorable SLAs, while maintaining close collaboration with Finance to align procurement with budgets and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the sole lead for all procurement activities
  • Manage the full lifecycle for Indirect Spend (SaaS, IT, Services)
  • Provide strategic and administrative support for Direct Spend (Trading, Custody, Market Data)
  • Administer the procurement tool and create internal work instructions
  • Train stakeholders to ensure effective tool usage
  • Build and enhance procurement policies and processes
  • Implement a risk-tiered decision tree for Legal review thresholds
  • Create a fast-track review path for expanded use cases
  • Create standardised business case templates
  • Manage contract expirations and notice periods
  • Partner with business owners on renew vs cancel decisions
  • Ensure compliance with MaRisk, DORA, NIS2 and KRITIS
  • Challenge technical spend using cloud infrastructure knowledge
  • Negotiate favorable Service Level Agreements
  • Collaborate with Finance to align procurement with budgets and reporting

Requirements

  • 5+ years in procurement or strategic sourcing, ideally within a high-growth Fintech or regulated financial institution
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure and cloud providers
  • Process mindset with attention to detail
  • Experience with Procurement Automation Tools
  • Ability to drive stakeholder adoption and influence
  • Fluent in English and German
  • Based in Berlin (mandatory)
