Procurement Officer
We are seeking an organized and proactive Procurement Officer to support the procurement of materials, equipment, and services for marine and construction projects. The ideal candidate will assist in supplier coordination, purchase order processing, and inventory management to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of project requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers for construction materials, marine equipment, spare parts, and consumables • Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) based on approved requisitions and project requirements • Follow up with suppliers on order confirmation, delivery schedules, and shipment tracking • Maintain accurate procurement records including supplier lists, price lists, and order histories • Coordinate with project teams, warehouse, and logistics for material receiving and inspection • Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery notes before forwarding to finance • Assist in negotiating pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers under supervision • Monitor inventory levels and initiate reordering of stock items as needed • Maintain proper filing of procurement documents including RFQs, POs, and delivery receipts • Liaise with shipping agents and freight forwarders for import/export documentation (if applicable) • Resolve basic supplier issues such as delayed deliveries or incorrect items • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and ethical standards • Prepare regular procurement status reports for the Procurement Manager • Assist in market research for new suppliers and materials
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field • Minimum 2-4 years of experience as a Procurement Officer, Purchasing Assistant, or similar role in construction, marine, or industrial sectors • Basic knowledge of procurement processes, purchase orders, and supplier management • Familiarity with ERP or procurement software (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is an advantage • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) • Understanding of Incoterms and basic import/export procedures is a plus • Fluency in English; knowledge of Hindi/Urdu or Arabic is beneficial Required Skills: • Strong organizational and documentation skills • Attention to detail for order accuracy and record keeping • Good communication and follow-up abilities • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Team collaboration with project, warehouse, and finance teams • Basic negotiation and problem-solving skills
