We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Procurement Business Architecture - Lead

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Opportunity

As Procurement Operations Capability Lead you’ll build an end-to-end consistent, high-quality Business Analysis capability across Global Procurement. The role sets the methods, standards, skills and reusable deliverables that turn Procurement strategy and business needs into clear operating model choices and decision-ready recommendations. You’ll raise the quality and consistency of analysis and create a practitioner community that enables informed investment and simplification. Working with senior stakeholders across Procurement and partner functions you’ll connect strategy, controls, data and technology considerations into coherent choices. Success looks like practical standards that are adopted across Procurement, high-quality reusable analysis assets and increased stakeholder confidence in decisions and outcomes.

What you'll be doing

  • Define and maintain the Global Procurement Business Analysis capability strategy, maturity roadmap, operating approach and service proposition
  • Establish standards, methods, templates, quality criteria and governance for analysis work and ensure consistent adoption across Procurement
  • Build core reusable deliverables including capability maps, value streams, target operating models, journeys, process and service models and business requirements
  • Translate strategic priorities and business problems into clear outcomes, scope, design principles, dependencies, assumptions and decision points
  • Evaluate the current Procurement landscape to identify capability gaps, duplication, fragmentation, control weaknesses and simplification opportunities
  • Create evidence-based options, impact assessments, trade-offs, benefits hypotheses and recommendations to support prioritisation and investment decisions
  • Provide assurance and constructive challenge on the completeness, traceability, coherence and quality of analysis and operating model deliverables
  • Build a community of practice that enables coaching, mentoring, peer review, knowledge sharing and reuse of proven approaches and assets

What we're looking for

  • Bring significant experience in Business Analysis, operating model development, capability planning or a related discipline within a large complex organisation
  • Demonstrate experience establishing and improving a Business Analysis practice including methods, standards, templates, assurance and competency development
  • Apply strong working knowledge of procurement processes and services including sourcing, procure to pay, third-party management, supplier management or procurement operations
  • Show proven expertise in capability mapping, value-stream analysis, target operating models, process and service modelling, requirements elicitation, options analysis and impact assessment
  • Convert incomplete or complex information into coherent analysis, clear choices and decision-ready recommendations
  • Use structured problem-solving, commercial judgement, facilitation, visualisation and storytelling to communicate complex work with clarity
  • Define competency expectations and learning pathways and build skills through coaching, mentoring and feedback
  • Partner effectively across business, technology, data, finance, risk and control disciplines and influence senior stakeholders

Building Procurement capability at scale

This role gives you the scope to set how analysis work is done across Global Procurement - from standards and governance through to the reusable assets teams rely on to make decisions. You’ll help create clearer operating model choices and more consistent delivery by strengthening traceability, quality and reuse. If you want to shape how Procurement turns strategy into practical designs and investment decisions we’d like to hear from you.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
