About the Role

HBM Nigeria Plc. is seeking a Procurement Operations Manager to oversee local purchasing operations, supplier relationships, procurement processes, and cost optimisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement local procurement strategies in collaboration with Category Managers.
• Manage operational purchasing of local goods and services, including contracts within approved thresholds.
• Coordinate operational buyers and ensure ethical procurement practices.
• Establish and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) with internal stakeholders.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor supplier service performance.
• Maintain procurement dashboards and prepare weekly and monthly reports.
• Coordinate procurement review meetings and follow up on agreed actions.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, purchase order procedures, and procurement policies.
• Review purchase requisitions, control costs, and identify opportunities for savings.
• Propose supply agreements and blanket orders for recurring purchases.
• Monitor contractor performance and communicate environmental policies to vendors.
• Drive procurement process improvements and optimise working capital.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain.
• First-level university degree or equivalent experience; an advanced degree may be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of procurement best practices and business processes.
• Project management, follow-up, and negotiation skills.
• Proactiveness, transparency, and strong human and business administration skills.
