Procurement / Quantity Surveying Officer

About the Role

Mshel Construction Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Procurement/Quantity Surveying Officer to manage procurement activities and project cost control, ensuring timely, cost-effective acquisition of materials, supplies, and services alongside strong contract management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies; source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for competitive pricing.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to delivery, including RFQs, purchase orders, and supplier contracts.
  • Maintain procurement records and monitor supplier performance and compliance.
  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and material schedules for construction projects.
  • Measure completed work for progress payments and final accounts; validate contractor and supplier claims.
  • Support project cost control, forecasting, and reporting to the project management team.
  • Assist with tender documents, contract negotiations, and change orders.
  • Maintain project cost records and provide cost-related technical advice to the project team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement or quantity surveying within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contract management, and cost estimation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and procurement software.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management is a plus.
