Procurement Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a Procurement Specialist with an engineering background (Industrial Engineering or related field) who has practical experience as an engineer and knowledge of the procurement cycle to contribute to the execution of purchasing operations and supplier engagement. Your engineering background will be utilized in understanding technical specifications and evaluating bids, ensuring the best value and quality within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

From receiving the request for needs to issuing purchase orders and monitoring supply. (Procurement Cycle) Participate in executing the procurement cycle.

Support bidding and tendering processes and execute them according to established procedures and policies.

Contribute to preparing terms of reference and technical specifications. (RFQ) Prepare requests for price quotations.

Review technical specifications for materials, equipment, and services utilizing your engineering background.

Participate in the technical and financial evaluation of bids and prepare comparison tables and award recommendations.

Communicate with suppliers and assist in negotiating prices and supply terms.

Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with delivery schedules and required specifications.

Prepare periodic reports and update procurement and supplier data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering field.
• Experience from 6 months to 5 years.
• Practical experience as an engineer (in manufacturing, projects, operations, or maintenance or similar).
• Knowledge of the procurement cycle (purchase request, price quotations, comparison, purchase order, receipt).
• Practical experience in Jordan.
• Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications and compare bids.
• Good skills in report preparation. Proficiency in Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chains.
• .CPSM or CIPS certifications or professional courses in procurement such as
• .Oracle or SAP experience with ERP systems.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
