About you
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Materials Management, or Life Sciences preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working knowledge of office procedures and equipment, common business practices relating to the purchase, pricing, terms, shipment, taxes, and payment for laboratory supplies, equipment, and services preferred
Understanding of principles and practices of centralized purchasing a plus
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
5 -10 years of purchasing experience
What you’ll do
Negotiate with vendors and internal departments by examining price, suitability, and availability of scientific supplies or services
Review and process all requisitions for materials which are on standing contracts with vendors
Process requisitions for vendor equipment repairs and small construction repair services and maintenance
Review orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with existing policies and procedures
Organize, update, and retain product information files and purchase order records
Obtain appropriate office and scientific supplies in a timely manner
Draft and submit purchase orders with vendors
Own relationships with vendors
Streamline purchasing process
