About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and experienced Procurement Specialist with a strong background in the construction and furniture industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing materials, negotiating with suppliers, managing procurement processes, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of quality materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies aligned with business needs.
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers and vendors for construction and furniture materials.
- Obtain and analyse quotations to ensure competitive pricing, quality, and value for money.
- Manage purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely replenishment of materials.
- Ensure materials meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers.
- Track deliveries, resolve supply chain issues, and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare periodic procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5–10 years of relevant procurement experience, preferably in construction, furniture manufacturing, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, furniture components, fittings, and finishing materials.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, communication, and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other procurement or inventory management tools.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
