Procurement Specialist (Maternity Cover)

This role sits within the Procurement and Contracts Division, which is responsible for advancing procurement policy, processes, capabilities, and delivery across the organisation's technology and digital procurement ecosystem.

The Division plays a dual role:

  • Supporting the organisation's digital and technology delivery needs; and
  • Shaping, enabling, and governing ICT procurement practices through standards, frameworks, platforms, and advisory support.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Procurement Partnering

  • Partner business divisions and agencies to understand priorities, risks, and delivery needs.
  • Advise on procurement strategies, sourcing approaches, and contracting models.
  • Drive contract reuse, demand aggregation, and alignment with WOG procurement strategies.

Procurement Policy & Frameworks

  • Develop and implement procurement policies, frameworks, templates, and standards.
  • Translate policy into practical guidance and continuously enhance ICT procurement approaches.

Procurement Tools & Innovation

  • Support procurement platforms, P2P processes, marketplaces, and standard contract templates.
  • Apply product thinking, data, automation, and AI to improve procurement efficiency and user experience.

Procurement Advisory

  • Lead end-to-end procurement advisory from requirement definition to contract award.
  • Develop evaluation frameworks and commercial models balancing value, delivery, and risk.
  • Provide procurement recommendations and manage key commercial risks.

Market Engagement & Capability

  • Guide supplier engagement and incorporate market insights into procurement improvements.
  • Build procurement capability through knowledge sharing, best practices, and training.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Strengthen procurement governance while enabling innovation.
  • Identify process improvements and collaborate with legal, finance, risk, and central stakeholders to enhance procurement outcomes.
