Procurement & Vendor Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Procurement & Vendor Manager based in Canada.
This role offers the opportunity to take full ownership of procurement and vendor management within a fast-growing, technology-driven environment. You will manage the complete vendor lifecycle, from sourcing and onboarding through negotiations, renewals, performance management, and offboarding. A key focus will be strengthening commercial terms, controlling vendor spend, and ensuring agreements remain aligned with business needs. You will also build efficient systems for tracking contracts, obligations, deadlines, and supplier performance. Working with stakeholders across a distributed organization, you will bring structure, transparency, and data-driven decision-making to the vendor ecosystem. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced procurement professional who enjoys autonomy, ownership, and building scalable processes.
Accountabilities
- Own the full vendor lifecycle, including sourcing and evaluating providers, onboarding, relationship management, contract renewals, and offboarding.
- Research market rates, prepare negotiation strategies, and lead contract negotiations to secure competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
- Proactively manage contract renewals by monitoring expiration dates, reviewing terms in advance, and preventing automatic renewals under unfavorable conditions.
- Build and maintain a centralized vendor and contract registry covering agreements, terms, owners, obligations, renewal dates, and other critical information.
- Develop automated and transparent workflows that improve the tracking, documentation, and reporting of vendor and contract information.
- Monitor vendor performance and compliance against Service Level Agreements (SLAs), deliverables, and contractual obligations.
- Identify and resolve vendor issues proactively before they negatively affect business operations.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to understand requirements, consolidate overlapping tools and services, and improve procurement efficiency.
- Provide leadership with clear visibility into vendor spend, commercial terms, opportunities for consolidation, and achieved savings.
- 5+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement, supply chain, contract administration, or a closely related field, ideally within an international and multi-vendor environment.
- Proven hands-on experience with contract management and commercial negotiations, including a track record of improving supplier terms and enforcing agreed conditions.
- Strong process-building mindset, with experience digitizing documentation, reporting, or procurement workflows and replacing manual tracking with automated systems.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage numerous active agreements, deadlines, renewal cycles, and contractual obligations simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to compare supplier proposals, assess commercial opportunities, and use data to demonstrate savings.
- Excellent communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to build productive long-term vendor relationships while firmly representing organizational interests.
- Fluent English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of outcomes, and operate effectively within a distributed, asynchronous environment.
- Experience with cross-border agreements, Software as a Service (SaaS) providers, digital service vendors, or fast-growing remote organizations is considered an advantage.
- Fully remote work with the flexibility to live and work where you are most productive.
- Flexible working hours focused on outcomes rather than time spent at a desk.
- Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO).
- Dedicated learning and development budget for courses, books, conferences, certifications, and other professional growth opportunities.
- Home office and wellness allowance.
- Opportunity to work within a small, senior, and collaborative team where individual contributions and decisions are highly visible.
- High level of autonomy and clear ownership within a distributed, asynchronous working environment.
- Opportunity to contribute to technology products used by millions of people across more than 160 countries.
- Transparent communication and decision-making processes.
- No relocation required.
